Been riding bikes with Rich ever since he gave me a bike in Bloomington. Which was his way of letting me know he was interested in... ahem, hooking up. At the time i wondered "why is this super-cute gay guy leaving a bike on my porch?" I didnt find out til years later what leaving the bike was all about. Why did i think R was gay? Could have been the bright yellow short-shorts he wore all over town, plus the fact that i never saw him with any females. (Well, except for one.) :-) He was always with Dave Mahoney, who rode his bike topless, hello. As it turns out, Rich was just a shy guy. A shy, gorgeous guy. HI RICH! Thanks for the uh, bike!
Soon after we moved to SF's Castro District, Ralph the landlord was really not so glad when I showed up. He referred to me as “the wife or tje girlfriend or whatever [the hell] she is…” I guess he thought Mahoney and Sopheia were a hot couple—I think that’s who showed up on his doorstep first, but I could be wrong about that. I usually am.
