Hello everybody. Saw my favorite Ocean Beach artist today, the Sand Dollar Dude, working outside the Cliff House. He and his partner Sarah make beautiful magnets, necklaces and chrishmish tree ornaments from sand dollars. No living dollars r harmed;only the skeletal remains r used. Each one is cleaned, then colored with wine, coffee, tea, or fruit juice, then baked to the hardness of a ceramic. No two sand dollars r the same to begin with, and after the coloring and baking they become even more unique. I love sand dollar dude! His work is also available upstairs at the Beach Chalet on the Great Hwy in Sam Fram, and at Sirens in Pedro Point, a great store right on the beach in Pacifica.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy listening to bff rich playing chrishmish songs on his all-purpose horn. :-)
