you're getting very sleepy

Dark days make me sleepy, how about u? We can only look4ward to December 22, the day after the shortest day of the year. On tour in Scotland a few years ago, we were amazed to come outside at 10:30 pm, and it was still daylight. That day remains one of my most unforgettable days. :-) Ok, all you wee lads and lassies. Love ya, later, bye. P.S. no shows again 2day, only remembering prior shows. This is a long p.s. ; just saw that dean and britta r playing a show in New York. go to deanandbritta.com, see 4 yersel'. Posted by Picasa

those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end

Walked from Green Street in Russian Hill down into North Beach. The sun was shining. Wore a sleeveless black sheath with a draped neck. And a black Sierra Club backpack and black Hurley sneakers. Liz Hurley is so beautiful especially the shape of her arms and legs, hands and feet. Went into Zoetrope Cafe (formerly Zim's) and looked at all the movie stills...Rain People, G.Father, Conversation. John Casale. Had a moment. (More like a few minutes actually.) Told the counter- girl (who made me a perfect capuccino) "this used 2b my hang-out in 1978." She said "welcome back." Posted by Picasa

bloglessness

Dear Reader, 2busy/apathetic 2 update this blog. Sorry. "Information given on a need-2-know basis." What Al Pacino movie was that? One of those later ones. Is that the same movie where he says "YOU'RE out of order! YOU'RE out of order!" Anyway, I had all these anti-thanxgibbin' news articles, but then figured everyone saw them already. Didnt want tired news in my blog, ya know? There was the one about the stove-top-stuffing lady die-ing. Then the one about Wal-Mart opening at 5 a.m.on Friday. And the one about a shopper trying2cut in line being wrestled2the ground by other shoppers. But the best one was about a movement called FREEGAN. Get it? Like vegan. Look4it online, it's interesting. It's about eating for free. It's an anti-excess stance. Pretty cool.

Hurt my arm doing yoga. Dont want2tell my teacher...i think she might feel bad and i dont want her2. So there's my excuse...cant tour...hurt my arm. Cant carry my accordion case. Heh heh. :-) Posted by Picasa

asilomar

<

Went to Asilomar in Pacific Grove for 2 overnights. Asilomar is mostly for people attending conferences, and R noticed right away that the Justice Department was on a list of attendees posted at the guest check-in area. A womens' group was also there, u know, women with a "y"...womyn. Bad bad haircuts wandering around among the pine trees. A and R's room was in the building where some of the womyn's rooms were, and R noticed that none of them would make eye contact with him. Each building has a name, like SEA GALAXY, SAND, SURF, WHITECAPS, and a big common room, with giant-sized fireplaces, comfy chairs and sofas, a piano, and big potted plants like in Bloomsbury. The style is Arts and Crafts, so lots of dark wood everywhere.

On one of the nights, A&R joined 2 ladies in the common room of their building. R made a fire and kept it going for several hours. One of the ladies was English and one was Irish and they both had white hair. They sat in front of the fire on big leather sofas eating whole pieces of fruit, 2 little containers of yogurt, and crackers. R sat in a big rattan chair and had his headphones and lappie, and A sat in another big chair, crocheting a dark red scarf. The2ladies were reading aloud from a book about art, written from a cat's point of view. They summed it up by agreeing that the concept was a "lovely" one,and one of the ladies said "well, they know art, and they know cats." And the other lady said "Mmmm."

It seemed like there was so much2tell but now it seems like there isnt. There is a fantastic heated outdoor swimming pool. Maybe I'll remember more later. Oh yeah, they ring a bell at breakfast(7-9 am.), lunch (12noon-1pm) and dinner (6-7pm). And diners sit at large round tables. A&R were frightened of the way you are served your meals. Imagine like in a prison, you line up, and someone behind a thick wire screen, u cant really see them, slides a tray of food thru a slot and u pick it up. It was very very strange. So u dont see the food at all until it is pushed thru the slot. Gross. Needless2say, A&R went to Wholie's in Del Monte Center. Decided maybe we could do a Whole Foods' Tour! Tour only cities that have Whole Foods! Eat only at Whole Foods! Yay Wholie's! Yay Whole Paycheck! Yay Food Hole!

chains, my baby's got me locked up in chains

Believe it or not, this photo has not been re-touched. No highlights, fill-light, auto-contrast, or any of that. Just your everyday California sunset. This is NOT the house, however, where thru an open curtain, i saw a human-sized cage, like a personal cell kind of, with hanging chains, and big iron loops, like maybe to fit over someone's head? Or around the waist?? AND the house was 4sale! Now, I've heard of "staging", but this is ridiculous. How could the people leave the cage up during an Open House? Really weird. And whatever happened to Katie Beers, anyway? I hope she is OK. Well, needless2say, no shows or anything 2nite. Or the rest of the month, actually. Posted by Picasa

supplies

Been thinking of yoga flashcards. With pictures, and names of poses in English and Yogasana. 2lazy2google "yoga flashcards". Do they exist? Probably. If we could turn on the "comment" button at this blog, a reader might respond but NO, we have2keep the button OFF 2avoid ads. Dont u hate those? u get all excited thinking someone is reading your blog and then...oh, it's an ad 4 construction supplies. Fed a black bird a crumb of pumpkin bread. No show though. No sho-go. No-can-do. Posted by Picasa

in colors everywhere

These red/orange trees are this color year-round, not just at autumn-time. My hair is not red/orange lately. Once, when BFFRich had blue hair, a guy axed him "does the carpet match the drapes?" BFFRich answered something very funny but i cant remember now what it was. On tour i used2feel bad if i got hair dye on the hotel's towels. The trick at home is 2buy towels that match your hair color. No show2nite, watching netflix instead. Posted by Picasa

bike buddies

Rode bikes in Sausalito with BFFRich. It was a heartbreakingly beautiful day, raining lightly while the sun was shining and the sky was blue. So when u looked up, it was like the raindrops were backlit. Gosh. And the bay was all sparkly.
Ate a hippie sandwich(wettish, sprouted bread)while sitting on a bench. Saw a house for rent on Bridgeway...$3,595. Came home, voted Yes on F(Save the firehouses), and No on G(addition of 4traffic lanes at 9th Street entrance to Golden Gate P.) Also voted 2 not tour. It was unanimous. Posted by Picasa

dream baby dream

"Well i woke up this morning, you were on my face." Do u ever do that? Change the lyrics to songs making them a little bit naughty? What about this one..."Put your thighs on my shoulders..." oh yeah. Then there are the lyrics that r misunderstood. Lisa G's little cousin or brother maybe, thought that the Rolling Stones YOU CANT ALWAYS GET WHAT U WANT was YOU CANT ALWAYS GET A CHIHUAHUA. isnt that cute? We r still link-free here, in case u havent noticed. No linky dinky. Also tour-free. Posted by Picasa

Trippy light2day...the kind of light that could lead to an ocular migraine. Flickering, bright light amidst deep dark shadows. Remember that tv show? Dark Shadows? Probably not. Remember me touring? Vaguely. Posted by Picasa

When the cat's away, the mice will climb the walls. Still thinking about the article i read in salon about singing mice. Humans can't hear it, but apparently it sounds "like birdsong". Put THEM out on tour! Ha ha! Let THEM deal with the Marketing Dept.! Posted by Picasa
