The guy in the cartoon looks alot like Bruce Anderson, dontcha think? And demanding access to the higher beings? That totally sounds like something Bruce would say.
And speaking of higher beings where the hell have i been? I honestly dont recall. Why it seems like only yesterday that...hmmmm. Weird. Annnnyway, it may well be that things r going even faster than i previously thought.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy learning a new song.

I like the title of this cool jpeg of Steve, "Headshot Steve Albini". Pretty cool. Anyway, it's that time of year when i make a feeble attempt to boost my SEO by mentioning Steve's name. It was him's birthday yesterday.
Is he cute or what? This is one of my favorite Albini pics. So damn cute.
Happy Birthday Steve. Flow on.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy catching up on some Simpsons episodes.

Skated around in the empty parking lots east of Bridgeway this afternoon. You've kinda peaked by the time u get the skates and all the safety gear on. You got your knee pads, your elbow pads, your wrist guards, the helmet, it takes a while to strap it all on. (That's what SHE said). Came home flopped on the sofa and listened to POCKET KINGS by Ted Heller, excellent writer. And excellent narration by Ted Dixon. Highly recommended.
And speaking of knees, how YOU doin'?

The quote from Mark Twain about the warmest winter he ever experienced was a summer he spent in San Francisco is totes accurate. If u r planning to visit, better bring your winter coat. Or wait until September. By then the fog has skeedaddled. The picture above was taken on a relatively clear day. If it was a movie, you'd see the fog rushing down the hillsides, like water pouring out of a teakettle. It's kind of hard to believe when u see it happening, it looks like some kind of cgi special effects. Hey! No links!

When i moved to Sam Framcisco, the first job i applied for and got was at Tower Records. I loved my boss, Stan Goman, right away. Cute, smart and funny, there was nothing not to like.
When record salesmen would come in the store to check on their records he'd tell them, "Oh yeah. That one started off slow and then tapered off." Or, "it shipped gold and returned platinum."
It was a glam place to be and i learned alot about, well, the store's nickname was Tower Drugs, let's leave it at that.
When opera stars were in town they'd come into the store and there would be a big party in the back room. Being in SF, our store sold a ton of opera so the singers always made time to stop by when they were in town.
Years later, when White Courtesy Phone came out, Stan gave me "a board" on the outside of the store. All the top-selling albums of the day were advertised like that, with these huge hand-painted depictions of the album covers. U could see them from your car as u drove by. It was exciting to get the board. It was right on the corner of Columbus Avenue and Bay Street in North Beach.
Here's what Stan is up to these days. And there's a movie out or about to come out.

If i had a hammer, wait what? Not a hammer. A driver. If i had a driver i would have him or her drive me around in this set-up. Myself and crew could choose to ride upfront in the convertible or kick it in the Airstream from town to town, never leaving the ground got the rizzler by the pound.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy making u look at this.

Had me hair bleached yesterday. It was either that or a facelift.
Spent this morning listening to the PURE show on WPKN. The theme was Laugh and Cry and the songs flew by so quickly the show was over b4 i knew it. There was this, and a whole lot more, all great, and i'd never heard a single one b4 except Cry Me A River by Julie London. And speaking of singles, does this dj play actual hard copies, or downloads or what? U need to check out this very personal and eclectic show. Do it here. A real, live dj with real, live stories and comments about the musicians and songs.

Finished watching ATTACK THE BLOCK last night, recommended by ACC's gorgeous wif a capital G friend Heater. (That's her, up above).
The kids in the movie r dressed so cute in cool hoodies and oversized clothes and they talk like Ali G. After every sentence, instead of saying "yo", they say "get me."
The two youngest kids, Probs and Mayhem, r just as great in the extras as they r in the film itself, if not more so.
Highly recommended, but then, what's not2like? A weedroom that's as secure as Ft. Knox, hairy arty monsters, UFOs, pyro, a lil somefing4everyone.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy cleaning the baffroom get me.

Rode bikes around Stinson Beach a little bit today, up and down the sandy lanes that go from Highway One to the beach. Verra nice. One of us was a teensie bit overmedicated.
See u all tomorrow. Time to start watching Attack the Block.

It's possible that i've reached the end of the internet as far as grabbing images is concerned. Every time i've found a cool photo just now, i see that i've already used it. Crocheted accordions, sexy pizza, funny tour bus, goat gifs, i've used 'em all up.
And then some things r funnier in person, like this door with two exit signs at Rossetti's which seems hilarious as u r sitting there waiting for your pizza to be served, but here, not so much.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy making dinner.

It never gets old, hearing yourself on the radio. Little did i know when i was a kid with my radio glued to my ear that one day it would be me coming out of the speakers. So Friday, listening to the PURE show on WPKN was a thrill-and-a-half when what came across the airwaves but ACC's cover of Encore (original by X-tal). Exciting!
This song goes out to my favorite dj, with love and gratitude.

Paul likes handmade signage and i think he would have shot this same sign if he'd seen it. The "W" in Driveway is not a "W", but an upside-down "M". I think he even had a post about flipping letters around, and i'd look it up but i'm a little2busy watching new Louis C.K. When u google him, his shits is coming up 4th from the top, under 3 Louis Vuittons. Not too shabby.

A and R had a staycayshun at Stinson Beach 2day. The drive is 35 minutes with scenery like this. Then u come out of the redwoods and the Pacific Ocean is below, it's all there, as far as one can see.
A and R caught some waves, without wetsuits!
Decided against root beer floats from here. We'll DIY the floats back at the HB.
On the way back we passed Muir Beach Overlook.
I'd love to take you there.

C.L. James dropped by the NON TOUR DIARY office yesterday morning to hand-deliver her newly released cd. We had vegan chocolate cupcakes and coffee to celebrate.
And speaking of muffins, this guy i knew would see an attractive female on the street, and all friendly-like, he would call out from his car "Can i butter your muffin?"
No tour or shows or anything...2busy trying not to correct every typo i see.
