Hello everybody. Check out this new Elvis tribute cd. There's a contribution by yours truly performing an accordion version of Elvis' LOVE ME TENDER. The man behind this project will also be releasing a Sex Pistols tribute cd this fall/winter. I wonder if the artwork will look anything like this?
ACC's contribution to that cd will be PROBLEMS, a song with a really fun chorus: "Problems, problems, problems. The problem is you!" Wouldnt u just love 2 ride around in your car, shouting those words into a megaphone? I know I would.

Hello. Here's a picture of Britta Phillips and me that Dean W just sent, taken on a walk we took together the other day when they were in town. That's Stinson Beach and Bolinas in the background. I've finished Dean's book and i recommend u read it right away! I really dont see how Luna stayed together as long as they did;the touring in the van seems gruesome, especially the time period when Stanley Demeski was in the band. Funny yes, but also gruesome.

Hello. Well, our big excitement is over...dean and britta have left the bldg. Their show at YOSHI'S in sam fram was excellent. I was happy they did WORDS YOU USED TO SAY. Dean's written so many good songs over the years, and this is one of my very top-favorites. It seems like an easy song for him to sing, it just comes out so natural-sounding. And speaking of singing, in his new soon-to-be-published book, BLACK POSTCARDS, Dean compares Eddy Vedder's singing to Cher's.. Boy did i burst out laughing when i red that. My singing teacher, Katie Guthorn, showed me how to sound like Cher, and,according to Dean i guess like Eddy Vedder as well: You scoop out your tongue to make a bowl shape, and your vowels drop into the bowl instead of coming out of your mouth.
And, if you're keeping track of how many times we've lost electricity around here lately, today is the 4th time in less than 3 weeks, usually lasting for several hours each time. I was glad that at least it didnt happen while D&B were here, since it was cold and rainy, and the furnace, internet and stove all run on electricity.
Anyway, no tour or shows or anything...2busy trying to finish this b4 the power goes out again.

Hello everybody. Dean and Britta are in town for their show tomorrow nite at Yoshi's. This afternoon, we took them on a walk around our neighborhood, Ocean Beach and Land's End;Dean said this area reminds him of home.
For the past two weeks it's been bright blue and sunny and warm, and of course, the day they arrive it's cold and foggy. Oh well, at least it's not icy and freezing cold like it was in Chicago when they were there a few days ago.

Hello. Got a postcard from Hal Blaine today. As u may know, Hal played drums and percussion on ACC's cd WHITE COURTESY PHONE, and we've been pen-pals ever since. Anyway, Hal was letting me know that he had just returned from Nashville where he'd been honored at yet another induction ceremony. Congratulations Mister B!

Hello. So, i dont have a cold, i have the flu. And not the boogie woogie kind either.
And u know when u have a fever, how it can lead to crazy dreams? I kept dreaming i was hearing a noise in the bedroom, and i was looking all over for the cause of it. I was crawling around on the floor, looking under the bed, and saw that there were several bees, cute little cartoony ones, kinda purple with little hats on, whose wings had become caught on some pages of magazines and books that were under there. Then A woke up.
That's when i realized the noise wasnt coming from bees under the bed, but from my own whistling nose.
I'd been reading the Slash book all day and had just finished the chapter where he was being chased around naked at a golf resort by tiny machine-gun toting demons, so maybe that had something to do with my purple bees under the bed. He described the demons as looking like the Predator, only much smaller, like a few inches tall. Nikki Sixx reports that he was also visited by these demons on a regular basis. Im glad i never liked cocaine. Blech. Anyway, Slash's book is fantastic;i cant say the same for Nikki's tho.

Hello, and yes it's still raining. Barely made it over Devil's Slide yesterday prior to its being closed due to landslides;it was definitely scarey to see all that brown water rushing down onto the highway. The drive back from Half Moon Bay was a real cali-experience alright: First we had to drive (on beautiful Hwy 1) thru the mudslides, followed immediately by having to drive thru a large grove of tall, water-logged eucalyptus trees. Whew. The last hurdle was getting thru flooded areas of Hwy 1 at Ocean Beach. Back up on the hill now, safe and sound from floods, slides and falling trees. :-)

Another rainy day here in 'frisco but i aint complaining;at least it's not 35 below as it is in Maine today. I still dont miss winter in the midwest/north. I remember so clearly having my first childhood eureka moment. It happened when i was 8 or 9 years old, as i was walking thru waist-deep snow to get to the damn school bus. My big moment was, i realized that after i graduated high-school, I COULD MOVE!!!! "YAY!!!", I thought to my young self, "YAY!" I was sick of brutal winters, and i particularly hated waiting in the cold and dark mornings for the bus.

Hi. Dont ya hate it when u see something great and u dont have your camera with u. I gotta remember tho that my new phone has a camera but im not used2 it yet so i keep thinking it's just a phone.

Anyway, i saw a guy who was wearing a tattered and dirty dog suit(white with big brown spots, with the head/face part of the suit tipped back). He opened the tiny back door(which had a yellow ruffly curtain) of his little camper, crouched down to fit thru, and went inside. Wow. It was sunny and bright and the way the light hit the guy's face, i could see all his whiskers. Kinda high-lighted. He looked sorta drunk or messed up. What an amazing thing to see. The dog suit was the same colors as this dog suit. Only nasty.

Hi. If u want to take a nice long walk, go to lands' end and take the coastal trail. U can start here, up above Seal Rocks and the Cliff House, and walk all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Hell u could keep on going, walk across the bridge and into marin county. Or, u could walk past the bridge and aim for Greens for Sunday brunch, which is where i'm going rite now. Back later!

It was actually an accidental bust. I was just kidding and told him it sounded like he'd been getting his ideas from tv game shows and he replied that i was right. Hey, we songwriters have 2 grab our inspiration in whatever form it presents itself, oui?

And speaking of inspiration, yesterday in a store, i heard a man answer his phone by saying "hello my gorgeous little doll." What's inspiring about that, u ask? Uh, it inspired me to include it in my blog?

Hello ppl. BFF Rich showed up at his office yesterday wearing this outfit causing some of the staff 2 lol. R has always been fashion-4ward: In Bloomington he was the first person 2 wear what i called his "muffin shoes". Another Bloomington fashion moment 4 him was when he wore a Billy Joel tshirt to an mx80 shoot. The boys in the band were confused and thought other ppl would be too. And speaking of being confused, remember those funny sayings like "How i lost the war, by General Confusion", or "Antlers in the tree-tops, by Who Goosed the Moose"? Anyway...

Still raining here, and the big post-storm clean-up continues. Yesterday on sunset Boulevard I saw so many downed trees, and noticed that huge big branches had been ripped off the surviving trees. It sure must have been loud over there while all that was happening.
