FISH dot

Hello.
Walk to FISH. Order 2 carrot/ginger soups and 1 Arnold Palmer. Sit by fireplace. Walk back home.
Next day: Get a pre-recorded call from the Marin County sheriff's dept. warning of possible high tides in the ocean and bay. Prepare emergency-exit pkg: cash, driver's license, pills, laptop, phones/chargers, blanket, water.
High tide was higher than predicted. U could have kayak-ed in the parking lots and bike paths. R rode his bike thru knee-deep water. Pix later.

happy birthday jenny!

Thass right, I'm talkin' 'bout Jenny Hall. I just looked at one of her facebook pix, god she is awfully cute. One of the pix shows her hands up close, and A & R remembered they once tried to get Jenny to learn the bass because she has the perfect hands 4 a bass player. We wanted to recruit her for a coupla live Angel gigs because u know, it never hurts to have some jail-bait in the band ha ha. Also, wimmens make the best bass players because imho their timing is sexier than male players'. And speaking of cute girls, 4 a second i thought the lady above was Christina Amphlett.
Anyway, Happy Birthday Jimmy! Hope u had a fun day, as Lou Reed said, doin' the things that u want to.
Have a great year!

clouds r definitely not in my way

Hello. According 2 my neighbor Pat, the shapes of these clouds indicate wind patterns. Looking at them, we thought of that guy Bob Ross who taught painting classes on tv. I'd like to hear him explain how to paint these clouds. Maybe Paul Dodd could explain how it's done, since, u know, Bob has left the bldg. Paul likes 2 play music while he's painting.
So it's windy on the bay today, we stood in the parking lot and saw that the clouds and water were really moving, and they r the same color, and so above u and below u is moving, yet u yourself r not moving.
Being on the Loveboat is great on stormy days.

bristol

Hello.
For a coupla weeks there's been a Bristol parked in one of the lots on Gate 5 Road. Today i saw the owner i guess, he was driving it anyway. Handsome in a Peter Coyote kind-of-way. The Bristol is black and its steering wheel is on the right side.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy trying to get out of this blog.

spring has sprung the grass is rizzizzle

Hello. Rode my bike around different areas in Sausalito/Mill Valley today. Gosh the flowering trees r in bloom on all the hillsides, and the sun was shining on their blossoms, releasing the sweetest scents. It rained all day yesterday so the air was feeling extra-fresh, and then the smell of flowers too, wow.
My big excitement 4 the day was watching a beagle while she slept. And speaking of beagles, Amy's Cafe on Bridgeway finally took down their sign out front that advertised coffee and "bagle". And today I saw a customer come out of there with a styrofoam to-go container. Check please.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy waiting 4 my record to b mastered.

it was a good day, no AK needed

Hello.
Yesterday was a fantastic day. A and R rode bikes to the Sausalito ferry, locked up the bikes and took the ferry to downtown sam framcisco to the Ferry Building. Had coffee drinx and pastry at Blue Bottle. The brioche with strawberry and raspberry inside, i cant even tell u how good it was. I really like the gray tshirts worn by Blue bottle employees. There r various styles, mens and ladies, and all are made with the same very nice material.
Then we walked to Outpost Studios on Folsom Street to work with Dave Nelson and actually finished the ACC project. I was happy to see that the Euphonics board is indeed still there, but the funny thing is, the only thing it's used for is to hold computer screens. We never even touched the board. This way of working is so much fun. Maybe not for everyone i guess...i can hear Don Ciccone and Tommy Neal saying "Nyah! That stuff is for the birds!" Anyway, we didnt want it to be over so spent awhile fooling around with the order. Sadly tho, we did eventually have 2 say goodbye. See u next time Dave!
Took a cab from the studio to the Ferry Building, rode the ferry back to Sausalito, hopped on our bikes and rode home to the houseboat. Thanks Rich! I had a great day with u.
Stay tuned for promo video.

finally!

No tour or shows or anything...2busy finishing, yes, finishing, long-awaited (by me anyways) ACC project.
Going into the studio tomorrow to master and fix details with the third Angel, Dave Nelson. (That's not the current board tho. That's the Euphonics board Dave had at Poolside, where he recorded and mixed Pull Girl and Eve of Destruction.) A&R feel really lucky 2 b able 2 work with Dave. He's got a lot goin' on.

spring again

Hello.
I tried 2 link 2 the Biz Markie video for It's Spring Again, but none of them work. I like the way he says "everybody KNOW it's spring again" instead of "everybody knows". The Biz is so cute.
Lou Reed once said that the Biz was his favorite rapper.

can u hear me now?

then R woke up

Last night R had a dream that he was in the audience listening to a band. The guitarist was sounding (or trying to anyways)kind of like Bruce Anderson, and the vocalist was being all mumbly, Rich Stim-style. R was getting pissed off, and woke up yelling "IMITATED BUT NOT EQUALED!"
Yeah! U tell 'em, Rich!

superbowl stuffle

with apologies to ed hamell and north fork sound. (sorry, but i needed some funny text to go with this picture)

A Fed Ex guy walks up to a house, rings the doorbell, and a 10 year-old kid comes to the door with a Scotch in one hand, and a cigar in the other...and he's wearing womens' underwear. Fed Ex guy says "Are your parents home?" and the kid says "What do YOU think?"

jonathan livingston etc.

Hello
.
And speaking of birds, i remember R telling me that either he, or someone he knew, once fed chicken to chickens. Now that's just weird.
And speaking of cannibals (in the title to previous link), A and R once offered a homeless man something to eat in a to-go container and when we handed it to him he said "I'm NOT a cannibal!" because we didnt have any utensils to give him. Well, we figured out he meant "I'm not a barbarian", or "I'm not a savage" or something like that, so we went back in the restaurant and got him a fork and spoon. That happened a few years ago, but we still say "I'm not a cannibal" if one of us hands the other a plate of food without a fork. And we think "he doesnt even know we exist, but here we are, repeating his words and thinking about him."
Hey! Shout-out to Kevin Patrick. :-) I hope u NON TOUR DIARY readers go to his fabulous site.
No tour or shows or anything...2busy with my er, nose pressed up against the window pane.

kayak-ity yak (click the pic)

rickykayak

Rich finally got his kayak. I'll get one next, a bigger one, which will become his, and I'll use this orange one, which looks a little small for Mister Man. He goes out into the bay and picks up junk out of the water with his paddle. Today's catch: one tennis ball, and one small blue flashlight. He likes being out there and seeing all the wildlife on the water. Paddle on, Rich!

balancing act

Hello.
This scene really knocks me out. i came across it on the bike-path to Mill Valley today...2 decorated/painted lampshades, each perched on top of a stump. Very Minnie Mouse. Or it could also look like a pair of seals balancing lampshades instead of rubber balls on their nose.(Ooooooh. - Ed.)
No tour or shows or anything...2busy with home remedies.
