There r no trees on the docks which means no shadows moving slowly across the walls of the boat as the day goes along. So these pine-tree shadows creeping in the corner during last week's vaycay in the forest seemed extra-sweet.  That was a clumsy sentence but i've spent enuff time on it.

mendo is endo

Back from Mendocino. The white lacy ruffly curtain thing is a prevalent style there. U see it in hotels, restaurants, everywhere. That and old-fashioned rocking chairs and those curvy brass beds and color combinations in the bedrooms like pale lavender and coral. Together. Not sure i could sleep in a room like that;Princess be all queasy.

Last week a certain someone spent her birthday in stunning, dazzling Mendocino.
Sun, fog, cliffs, beaches, waves, tower houses and The Corners of the Mouth.
Accommodations were in a pygmy pine forest just outside of town. The trees r just wee so it's plenty sunny all day and the sky at night is jet black with billions of stars, big as tennis balls.
In town (above) we heard someone ask "Where's the "Murder She Wrote' house?"

And speaking of hypnotism, I've been in a trance due to the pre-apocalyptic light the last few days, maybe since the time change. Or something unbelievable in the sky, like a giant spinning mandala, coming closer and closer, and louder than Motorhead.

here come the balls

Submarine nets were used in WW1 underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. The nets were attached to balls. Two of these balls ended up under the dock at NON TOUR DIARY headquarters and have been under there for whoknows howlong. They r being cleaned up then they'll be tied together and transported somewhere else, supposeably to be used as objets de art on the deck of a fancy new houseboat.

Took a walk on the new pathway into Tam Junction. The boardwalk is a few feet above ground so u can walk or bike there any time now with no worries about high tide coming up.  Here's what the same route looked like prior to the improvement;u had to be sure to check your tide app b4 crossing the marshland.

At a dinner party last night the host told me a story about the inherited silver pitcher atop his dining room table. His Euro relatives had felt that the pitcher was too precious to use and too attractive to any would-be thieves so they kept it hidden away, suspended inside a laundry chute. I keep thinking of the surreal image of the beautiful silver pitcher hanging from a rope in the dark.
