U know that service that recommends songs 2u based on what u just listened to?  Apparently,  if u like ACC, u may like the Tikis.
I liked the drums so i looked up the Tikis, hey wow! Ted Templeman was the drummer.
He's a great producer as well as an excellent drummer, i kind of followed his producer career backintheday; he was on a list of potential producers for ACC's White Courtesy Phone.  Ted's one of these producers that even if u dont particularly love the band, u like the general sound because it's just so attractive.
AND he's from Santa Cruz. (Here's a cool place2stay if u find yourself there. Kim and Dave once visited A&R at the Edgewater.)
Santa cruz is pretty cool. U got the Mystery Spot, the Boardwalk, and surfing, and u can drive by the house where George Earth was living when the Big One struck.

In the 80s Calistoga was empty, hardly anyone went there and u could have the place to yourselves. HT once went there with A&R, i remember him taking a glider-trip with R over the hills of the surrounding area which was blissfully un-developed then.
And speaking of HT, i heard the best song on his show yesterday: "Preservation" by Hookworms. Just now at the link i saw that someone called Spaceman 33 was also listening. Heh. Funny. Anyway i'm pretty much loving Hookworms. They're my new Loop.

Uh oh. The clouds today look like autumn clouds. Summer kind of got away from me this year due to circumstances beyond my control-top pantyhose. I'd prefer living in perpetual-ish summer, with its long and bright days stretching on forever.
And speaking of long, "only" 11 more hours to go on the Leonard Cohen audiobook. I didnt know too much about Leonard b4 so it's all news to me, but did u know that he dropped acid b4 going onstage? I cant imagine doing that. How did he keep track of all those words?
Anyway, still no tour or shows or anything...2busy eating cronuts. (Not really, i dont even know what they r and as a matter of principle i havent clicked on any cronut links and i also havent clicked on any A-Rod links.  Didnt he used to "date" Madonna?).

Bruce "the Bruiser" Anderson back on the boat, recording a contribution to a Kevin Teare project using a wild-sounding set-up Bruce called 'Deathray', and ongoing work on the next MX project.
And speaking of special effects, due to the drifting smoke from the Oregon fires,  it looks like someone has put a filter on everything around here.  Sort of similar to the way it looks when there's a partial solar eclipse.   There's a sadness or melancholy feeling to it.  At sundown/eveningtime things appear even more orange than usual, but with a shadow or dark highlight effect.
