Hi. Wore my new adidas to a houseboat-fire safety demo to learn how to operate the pumps kept in the new disasster preparedness trailer.  What i learned is...i need new hands. I could barely budge some of the knobs and levers and handles and i was certain that the handle for the fire hose on our dock was rusted stuck until this really cute guy reached over and turned it on effortlessly.

Hi.  This stairway brings to mind early paintings by Kevin Teare, the big ones that featured horizontal lines like the top row here. I loved those paintings.  Wow all of a sudden i'm smelling paint. Weird.

Hello dear readers.   Back in the day ol' ACC brought in the big bucks as a photographer's model.  Later, after hooking up with guitarist Bruce Anderson, i gave him one of the nicer 8x10 photos.  He started calling me "Bubbles" and kept the photo in his gtr case.  I took that as a compliment.

I'd always enjoyed Paul Williams' writing so i was pleasantly surprised one night after an ACC show when he introduced himself, saying he was an ACC fan, and invited me to work as a volunteer at the next Philip K. Dick newsletter mailing party.
The mailing parties were held in Paul's apartment in the Mission.  At the first one i attended,  I was the only female, so u know, there was that. Me and maybe 10 or 15 or so guys.  But the thing that really sticks with me is the image of them sitting around a big table in their jeans and tshirts, collating, folding, stapling,  stuffing, stamping, licking... and eating Cheetos. All their mouths were ringed in yellow and yellow was all over their fingers, on the pages of the newsletter, and the envelopes.

All caught up in the Phil Spector book. Phil had nicknames for everyone;he called Sonny Bono "Sonny Bozo". It's a fascinating book, even if u think u know all there is to know about him. Hmmm, that kinda sounds like a Spector song title.  The really good bits of info r the ones detailing the tons of deals Phil made during his career.
That was true in the Michael Jackson book as well.  Michael's deals have got to be the most insane deals ever made in the mucus bidness. Each deal would be contingent on some other past or future deal, it was one big dizzy maze. Because MJ was so far in debt to so many people, instead of the "payments" being actual pay-outs to him, the huge sums would be deducted from what he owed to so-and-so, or this one, or that one, with everybody lusting after the ultimate prize, Michael's ownership of the ATV catalog. I wish somebody would make an MJ 'deals chart' or spreadsheet or something, i'd love to read that.
And speaking of bozos,  have u seen the paintings done by W?

U need to check out the film End of Watch. Holy bunny rabbits, it's amazeballs. After seeing it last night i had dreams i was driving backwards really fast everywhere, including on the bike path at Ocean Beach. Buddy-cop-action movies arent usually my taste but this one...wow. So artistic with fantastic camera work. So get on the bus, Gus.

Bay Area residents tend not to spend much time at Fisherman's Wharf. I like being there but I was glad that the Bushman wasnt around on my recent visit. It's a wonder somebody hasnt had a heart attack yet or kicked his ass.
The smells at FW r always sort of nauseating...that sickening sweet cotton candy smell, tourists smoking ciggies, the stinky seals, and lots of fried food odors.  U pass from one to the next with the trail of the last one leading into the next one. The End.

all aboard for funtime

Visited the Musee Mechanique at its new(ish) Fisherman's Wharf location the other day. I wish u could hear what it sounds like in there. Imagine a sound file packed from top to bottom and left to right with sounds from the old machines mixing in with the newer machine sounds, kids screaming and yelling, Laughing Sal laughing, chairs with metal legs being dragged on the concrete floor, people speaking different languages, all happening in a huge open concrete pier so u get all that soupy reverb on top of everything else. It's a crazy and very interesting soundscape. Still no tour or shows or anything...2busy living large.
